What services do you offer?

Decluttering, organizing and documenting/displaying memorabilia.
Services such as recycling, donations, and/or garbage will only be taken off-site if requested by the client.

Services not provided: moving heavy furniture/items.

What is the difference between decluttering, organizing, & Highlighting Memorabilia?

Decluttering: sorting items into keep, donate or garbage. Simplifying your things.
Organizing: creating systems to organize what you want to keep. 
Memorabilia: sorting, displaying, typing out, recording and sharing stories, images and items of sentimental value. 

Which package should I book?

Book Decluttering/Clear the Clutter if you feel overwhelmed by your things, you can't find them, when a space takes too long to tidy, after holidays, or before major life events like moving or renovations.
Book Organizing/Optimal Order if your things don't have "a home", when you're moving to a new space, or any time you want to save time, reduce stress, and improve productivity in your life.
Book Memorabilia/Meaningful Memories to create and/or find homes for items with emotional significance and give them new life. We will sit down with you to write, type, document, print, scan and/or frame photos or create shadow boxes of important items. 

Why do you reserve large time slots for my booking?
Will it take the full 3 or 5 hours to complete?

We are well-known for being efficient and effective with our time.  Bookings may take more or less time, depending on the needs of each client. You'll only be billed for the amount of time Clean Slate is on site. Consultations are recommended for a more accurate estimate.

How do you ensure the organization is sustainable and fits my lifestyle? 

We do our best to discuss the needs of each client, ensuring we understand their desired goal; once that is determined, we work to accomplish this. After the work is complete, we discuss how and why it should be sustainable.

If we've already worked together and you need help resetting your space down the road, let us know. A bit of extra attention, here and there, can help you maintain your goals.

How far do you travel?

Within 30-45 minutes driving distance from Millarville, AB.
​If the travel time exceeds 45 minutes, an additional fee will be applied.

What products do you use when cleaning & decluttering?

We use multi-sized labellers to fit the needs of each project and natural cleaning products, such as vinegar and baking soda, to wipe down and clean spaces. We use a Hoover vacuum and a multipurpose steam cleaner, which can refresh and deodorize with the power of steam.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand circumstances change, leading to the cancellation or rescheduling of services. We require a minimum of 24 hours, by 9:00 am on the day previously scheduled, to allow us to adjust our schedule and accommodate all our clients' needs. If not, a fee may be applied.

We empathize with unexpected emergencies, and if such a situation/emergency occurs that prevents you from maintaining your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss the situation.

What is your rescheduling policy?

Please understand we will book you in as soon as we are able; we appreciate your flexibility when requesting to reschedule.

What if Clean Slate needs to reschedule with the client?
Clean Slate staff aim to be reliable, honest and punctual for every booking. We appreciate your patience if we need to rearrange an appointment due to a personal emergency or illness. Should this happen, we will reschedule you as soon as possible and offer you a 10% discount on the total amount.

What is your legal damages policy?

​Clean Slate Company will repair, replace or provide financial compensation for accidental damage to the client's property caused by staff. Clients must confirm verification of pricing for damages to allow for corrections. Clients agree not to take any legal action against Clean Slate Organizing and Cleaning Company for any damages that may occur during their service, waiving their right to sue.

Should I be home or out while you're providing services?

It depends on what your needs are; if you've selected support or hired us to complete the decluttering for you.
 
How would you like support with the decluttering process?
100% Clean Slate: We handle all the decluttering/organizing, you trust us to do it all
75% Clean Slate: We handle the bulk of decluttering & bring you in briefly (estimated 1-2 hrs of your time)
50% Clean Slate: We declutter together 50-50, a team effort
25% Clean Slate puts everything we're unsure of in boxes for you to sort through. We can provide support as you need
All you. We sort and organize the space, and you choose what stays & goes all on your own, at your pace. 

Can client pets wander while services are being done?

All pets, indoor and outdoor, must be kept in a separate room, fence, leash or kennel during service hours. This policy protects both the animals and our staff. We will not start our work until all pets are secured in a safe environment. If they are not, we reserve the right to reschedule the services for a later date.

Will Clean Slate workers take photos of the space they work in?

Yes, we will capture images before and after the work is done. This is to guarantee that everything is properly documented and to clarify how and why items were relocated, tidied up, or arranged. These images will not be shared with the public.
Photos will be utilized for promotional purposes only with the client’s permission, while maintaining confidentiality.

How do we pay Clean Slate Company?

We take cash and e-transfers. Payments are expected to be paid within 10 days from the date services are rendered. 
No cheques or credit cards please. Thank you.

Do staff take breaks while on site?

The duration of their work determines the breaks. Employees will have breaks when they work for 5 hours or longer: they are entitled to either two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

What legal rights do your workers & clients hold?

All employees possess the right to both physical and mental well-being and safety within the workplace, as mandated by the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act. Therefore, if a workplace hazard is identified, staff are entitled to vacate the premises, receiving payment for any work performed up to that moment, and must document the area they worked in by taking a time-stamped photograph before leaving. Any of our employees holds the right to decline work they genuinely believe poses a danger; exposure to second-hand smoke may be deemed a workplace hazard.
 
Clean Slate Company reserves the right to turn down a job if the necessary supplies or personnel to complete the task are insufficient. They may suggest an alternative company that is more appropriately equipped for the job.
 
For the protection of our clients, Clean Slate Company holds the proper license and registration, as mandated by local and provincial regulations.

Is your Company's full name?

Technically, our Company is "Clean Slate Organizing and Cleaning Company"; we've shortened it for ease of pronunciation, and as shorter names are often more memorable. 

Will Clean Slate take or bring in large furniture?

​No, we do not have the staffing, furniture dollies, straps or vehicles to make large deliveries or donation runs. If you'd like, we can recommend companies that can move large pieces of furniture for you.
